Universal Genève Polerouter Collection

On November 15, 1954, a Scandinavian Airlines flight completed the first transatlantic crossing over the North Pole, with the prime ministers of three Nordic nations aboard. To mark the occasion, SAS commissioned a young Gérald Genta — then barely in his twenties — to design a dedicated timepiece for their pilots. The result was the Polerouter: twisted lugs, a crosshair dial in alternating-finish quadrants, and a case that Bruce Lee and Alain Delon would later wear on their wrists. Universal Genève — dormant for three decades and now relaunched under new ownership — has brought it back, not as nostalgia but as a direct evolution. The crosshair dial and dual-finish treatment are intact; inside is the all-new UG-110 calibre, a micro-rotor movement with 72-hour power reserve that maintains the DNA of the original 1958 Calibre 215. Nine references across 37mm and 39mm cases, with options including stone dials in lapis lazuli, tiger's eye, and bull's eye.
