Cristina Goettsch Mittermeier was born in Mexico City in 1966 and raised in the sunny state of Morelos' Cuernavaca. She is a photographer and marine scientist who has worked as a writer, conservationist, and photographer for the past 25 years. She established the famous International League of Conservation Photographers in 2005 to give a platform for environmental photographers, and, with her partner, Canadian photographer Paul Nicklen, she co-founded Sea Legacy, a non-profit committed to ocean conservation, in 2014. Christina’s site highlights many of her incredible works.
