Sebastian Canto’s New Take On The Catamaran

Sebastian Canto, a designer based in London, has just shown a brand-new catamaran prototype with an unusual hull designed to increase efficiency at sea. The 21-foot sailboat, dubbed Enea, has a sizable gap at the front of each hull that lessens the weight and lateral wind resistance of the craft without compromising its seakeeping capabilities. Additionally, it improves this catamaran's ability to maneuver on the water and adds a lot of personality. Compared to heavier, holeless competitors of the same size, Enea will use less power. She will be powered by two Yamaha Harmo electric engines, each of which can produce 3.4 Kw or 10 horsepower. With no noise or pollution, the system can move the catamaran up to eight knots. Regarding the expected range, the designer withheld any technical details.
