Pininfarina’s New 70-Foot Foiling Hyperboat Concept

The new Persico F70, designed in conjunction with Persico Marine and Carkeek Design Partners, blends cutting-edge technology with luxurious living accommodations to serve as both a regatta racer and a day sailor. The lightweight 70-footer, made of carbon composite, has been dubbed a hyper boat because of its sleek, aerodynamic profile, which is ideal for fast travelling. The boat, according to Shawn Carkeek, the principal designer at his eponymous firm, can reach full flying mode with only 10 knots of wind. This "Pininfarina hypercar over the sea" will also have specialized software to aid performance and handling. Because the foils are totally retractable, docking the F70 is also a breeze. The vessel's inside is equally cutting-edge, and it seems like it came straight out of a science fiction film. A number of rings accent the open area, which accentuates the boat's length and width.
