AWE-STRIKING LUXURY YACHT CLUB SHAPED LIKE A MANTA RAY

Inspired by the shape of a manta ray, the Luxury Yacht Club from Sri Lanka-based architect Thilina Liyanage, is another expressive vision of waterfront property with the elaborate use of the right colors, volumes, proportions, and curves. The manta ray-shaped building floats on a wooden pier built on the coast of an ocean or sea. Its large mouth acts as the structure’s entrance while its extended tail is intended to create the club’s branched piers where the yachts can dock. Its spacious design allows having a concierge, lounge, bar, restaurant, and a host of all other luxury facilities one can ever think of. Another element making this concept unique is the use of bamboo to organically design the structure and fit it in the surrounding landscape. Curved metal large pipes are supposed to create the manta ray's frame and give it volume. The fabric helps let in sunlight during the day, lighting up the club’s interiors, while allowing light from the inside to diffuse outside at night creating an incredible aerial view!
