HYBRID BOAT-PLANE

Water-crossing and air-flying, the 72-foot EP-15 utilizes the ground effect (a small cushion of air) to hover across the surface of the water and making landings on the sea. Built by RCD Aqualines, It has space for two crew members and ten passengers. Using a technology that helps to create additional lift while reducing downdraft, the EP-15 can reach speeds of 70 mph. While the hydroplane can fly up to 25 feet above the water, its cruising altitude is just a little over a foot. This vessel is powered by a 600-hp electric-hydrogen hybrid powertrain. Operating as both a passenger and cargo vessel, the EP-15 is fitted with single rows of seats that are separated by an aisle. To carry cargo, the seats can be removed, allowing for complete customization to fit each individual’s needs.
