At 1222 meters above sea level, Hotel Finse 1222 is situated at the Bergen Railway's highest point. It was initially inaugurated in 1909, the same year that the Bergen Railway was finished. Finse may only be reached by foot, a bicycle, or by train. The hotel is situated directly on a platform with views of the magnificent glacier Hardangerjkulen and neighboring mountains, as well as other sights. Hotel Finse 1222 opens from January through the end of May in the winter and from July through the end of September in the summer. The resort offers 109 beds and 41 rooms. Finse provides a range of summertime activities. On guided tours, you can use crampons to explore the Hardangerjkulen glacier, or you can bike along the wonderful Rallarvegen route from Finse to Hallingskeid or Flam.
