Unnur is a quite passionate, tender documentary directed by Chris Burkard telling the story of Elli Thor, an Icelandic photographer, surfer, and former kayaker and his daughter, Unnur, named after the god of the ocean’s daughter. It is a story about how near-death experience happened a decade ago, when he nearly drowned under the waterfall in an Icelandic river, changed his mindset and perspective on many aspects of his life. The accident became a catalyst for his personal and professional development, re-evaluating life choices. The documentary is a snapshot of Elli's and his daughter finding joy and warmth in a simple, but meaningful things such as a passion for the ocean, love of surfing, and close personal bond.
