VISIT THE EXHIBITION

"The Library of Us" is a 20-foot-tall, 50-foot-wide kinetic sculpture by world-renowned artist Es Devlin, commissioned by Faena Art for Miami Art Week 2025. This rotating triangular bookshelf houses 2,500 volumes that have shaped Devlin’s philosophy, creating a glowing beacon of knowledge on the sands of Miami Beach.

It includes a meditative escape from the frenzy of Art Basel, inviting visitors to pause for reflection and collective reading. Features include a circular reflecting pool and a dual-ring reading table; the inner ring rotates with the sculpture every ten minutes, facilitating chance encounters between strangers. An integrated LED screen scrolls literary excerpts accompanied by a polyphonic audio score read by the artist. Beyond its visual impact, the project addresses cultural fragility and censorship, with the books ultimately donated to local Florida schools and libraries.

It is a transformative public arena where architecture, literature, and the tides converge.
