Subnautica 2, the highly anticipated third installment in Unknown Worlds' underwater survival series, is officially slated for Early Access release in 2026. Transitioning to Unreal Engine 5, the sequel promises a more ambitious and visually stunning alien ocean world than its predecessors. Following a delay from its original 2025 window, the studio has used the additional time to refine new core systems—including the series' first-ever native multiplayer mode—to ensure it meets the "Legacy of Aloha" level of quality fans expect.

Subnautica 2 invites you to "change what it means to be human" to survive. With its move to Unreal Engine 5, expect a world that is not only larger but more reactive, where the world is out of balance and your survival depends on your ability to adapt.
