A New Way To Surf With The Kinetic Option Jet Surfboard

The TKO 001, created and produced by Singaporean start-up The Kinetic Option, is meant to be used in both fresh and salt water, on rivers, lakes, or out at sea, with or without waves. It weighs 18 kg, generates up to 12 kilowatts of power from its lithium battery, and is 180 cm long. Riders may regulate the speed using a waterproof handheld remote with a screen that shows information like the current speed and battery life - riders get about 40-45 minutes of run time from the battery. The TKO 001 replaces the conventional open deck with snowboard-like foot bindings, which is different from most powered surfboards. In addition, an integrated body-worn leash will limit power to the board's engine if the rider still manages to slip off, keeping it nearby.
