BECOMING COUSTEAU, from National Geographic Documentary Films, is a documentary about Jacques-Ives Cousteau - a famous adventurer, filmmaker, inventor, author, and dedicated conservationist who started the Cousteau Society to preserve marine life. Two-time Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker LIZ GARBUS studies his life, films and inventions, achievements and the experiences that exposed the world to the undersea realm, planet vulnerability and inspired generations to protect the environment. The author also helps gain insights into his family, including his first wife, Simone, and their sons Jean-Michel and Philippe who also spent a lot of their time at sea.
