Azimut Launches the Grande 30M: A Floating Glass House With Intentions

Azimut has officially launched the Grande 30M, the newest addition to its Grande series, from its Viareggio shipyard in Italy. Designed by Alberto Mancini with interiors by m2atelier, the 30M blends sculptural exterior lines with a minimalist interior palette the designers are calling “Barefoot Luxury.”

Side profile of the Azimut Grande 30M yacht cruising in calm blue waters, showcasing its sleek lines, expansive windows, and multi-level decks.

The model introduces a few firsts for Azimut, including the Infinity Skydeck—a fully walkable upper deck that wraps from stern to bow—and a Glass House skylounge, where three sides of floor-to-ceiling glass can slide away entirely. The aft garage transforms into a teak-lined terrace over the water, branded as the Deck2Deck™. It’s a suite of features aimed at owners seeking openness, quiet, and a new take on space.

Accommodations

Interior of the Azimut Grande 30M featuring an open-plan dining and lounge area with panoramic sea views, neutral tones, and natural wood finishes.

The Grande 30M offers a layout optimized for privacy and space. Up to 10 guests are accommodated across five en-suite cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite with panoramic windows. Crew quarters are separate and discreetly arranged forward, allowing for a professional three- to four-person team without interrupting guest areas.

Interiors are deliberately toned down—matte woods, natural textiles, and muted stonework set the tone. It’s calm, curated, and arguably more timeless than trendy.

Performance

Aerial view of the Azimut Grande 30M highlighting the Infinity Skydeck, forward pool lounge, and aft sunbathing area over turquoise waters.

Underway, the yacht is powered by twin Rolls-Royce MTU pod drives, marking Azimut’s first foray into this propulsion setup. The switch promises enhanced maneuverability, reduced vibration, and a claimed 30% reduction in emissions, thanks to the lightweight carbon fiber build and a newly optimized hull.

The top speed hovers around 25 knots, but the Grande 30M isn’t chasing velocity—it’s designed for efficient cruising with lower fuel consumption and minimal wake. While the launch of the Grande 30M signals a directional shift—toward restraint, transparency, and technical efficiency—its real impact will only come into focus with time, ownership, and open water.

Takeaway

The Azimut Grande 30M is less about making noise and more about shaping a new kind of silence—where openness, efficiency, and subtle design converge. It reflects where yacht design may be heading: toward restraint, not showmanship.

But in a market that often rewards bold gestures and instant impact, will quiet innovation resonate? Or will this measured approach get lost in the noise?

Only time—and owners—will tell.
