2012 Sea Lion: Amphibious Prototype

The 2012 Sea Lion Amphibious Prototype was built to push boundaries, recognized at the time as the world’s fastest amphibious car.

Designed with a stainless-steel body and a Mazda 13B rotary engine, it was engineered to deliver speed both on land and in water. On the road, it offered sports car-like handling, while on water its lightweight design and streamlined hull enabled strong performance.

The Sea Lion was created as a one-off experiment in versatility, combining automotive engineering with marine craft principles.

More than a vehicle, it represented an ambitious attempt to merge two worlds—where roads end and waterways begin. As a rare prototype now offered without reserve, it highlights innovation and bold design from a period when amphibious vehicles were still more concept than reality.

Today, the Sea Lion stands as both collectible curiosity and engineering milestone.
