THE GODFATHER PART II TAHOE ESTATE

Over three-quarters of a century ago, these lush landscaped grounds on Lake Tahoe provided the perfect setting from which wealthy industrialist Henry Kaiser would lavishly entertain his contemporaries from around the world. After dining upon a sumptuous luncheon at his personal yacht club, guests would line the seawall to witness feats of skill and daring as Kaiser and his friends raced their slick mahogany crafts along the shores of the lake. And although the roar of their V12 engines is now but a faint echo against the walls of nearby Blackwood Canyon, “Fleur du Lac,” Kaiser’s Flower of the Lake, named after one of his favorite boats, remains a notable and much sought after address.
